This is likely the first fish anyone inland has ever caught. This pumpkinseed perch is what every kid goes to the pond for. The fun thing about painting these freshwater fish is their colors vary from location to location even a few miles apart. You almost never catch two that look the same. I spent all my youth catching these all day long with my grandpa in wild parts of Kansas you wouldn’t and won’t ever hear of. We called it pond hopping. I will paint more but this one is one of a kind and I won’t repeat them. (No need). This is perfect gift for a fisherman that still remembers his first fishing trip.
I only use archival pigments and professional grade 100% cotton paper. The art itself is 4X6 but there is extra to trim because frame manufacturers don’t coordinate with a actual ruler. (Joke lol) Fish need to be in water BUT watercolor paintings do not. They need to behind glass and in a loving home. Thank you for reading this far!
