I really enjoyed researching, learning about and then creating a chawan or as they are commonly referred to a ceremonial tea bowl.
The tea bowls are quite a unique experience. There is something very spiritual about them. Starting with the very simple but pleasurable way you cradle the chawan in your hands, to being completely enveloped by the aromatics as you bring the bowl to your mouth to take a sip, you can't help but close your eyes and inhale. In that moment... tranquility.

This piece is food safe, dishwasher & microwave safe however, as with all glassware and ceramic pieces, avoid moving pieces from one extreme temperature to another as thermal shock can cause items to crack. To preserve the beauty of your item load into the dishwasher carefully to avoid contact with other pieces during wash.

Handmade ceramic pieces are always more than just tableware or decor. For me, making ceramics is a spiritual process of turning a shapeless piece of natural material - clay into an object of art.

This is a very personalized gift for anyone, since these pieces are unique, the same ones no longer exists in the world and are made by hand with love and intention.

As each piece of pottery is entirely handmade each pot may have slight variations and small imperfections. This is a desirable trait of handmade pottery this pot looks and feels like a handmade quality peace.
